Pros

The community of people makes going to work fun. Management is always willing to teach students whatever they want to learn within their student worker position.

Cons

Not all departments communicate effectively. Works on a two week pay period, so bugdeting your money effectively is a must.

I worked at University of Illinois at Springfield full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It's a small university. They free tuition to employees so it's easy to get your master's without the financial burden. Most people are kind. The current chancellor is looking for growth within the university which is good.

    Cons

Management not versed in managing. It appears the longer you are there you can be promoted regardless of your ability to lead. Rouge management. Skill hording so that some people are invaluable regardless of there toxic behavior.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to employees.
