I have been working at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The paid is quite ok given the low housing cost in the city. The good CS department and the supercomputing facilities in the campus will greatly benefit theoretical research demanding heavy computation. Good inter-departmental collaboration.

    Cons

Kind of boring city. The school seems fail to keep good professors/researchers lately. Cold and fluctuating weather.
