I have been working at University of Iowa part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Set hours, weekends off, incredible benefits package

    Cons

Experience highly variable depending upon direct supervisor. Research PIs have no training in management of people. This is been a consistent problem throughout my 10 year career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please require research Principal Investigators to comply with basic management trainings and allow employees to rate their supervisors in an anonymous way. Without this option, they truly have no voice.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
