    Pros

Flexible working hours and off-campus location make it easier to work around parking and traffic
Serving the animal and public health of the Bluegrass
Great for individuals who don't like being micro-managed

    Cons

Broken University budget system allows employees who have been here too long to remain in positions out of fear of losing them in the budget crunch
UK can't properly recruit and retain more qualified individuals because they can't compete in terms of salary and benefits
Little room for vertical movement based on how job descriptions and in-house promotions system is structured
Morale is in the can due to recent budget cuts from the state and federal level(s)

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your employees and fully assess who is performing and who is just coasting by on the broken system
Properly document oral and written warnings so that firing of incompetent employees can happen in a more efficient manner
