    If motivated, look elsewhere!

Former Employee - Administrative Associate in Louisville, KY

I worked at University of Louisville full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pension Plan, tuition paid for employees

    Cons

Low salary, lack of leadership, lack of transparency, extremely secretive and political. There are some who could watch their manager pocket university funds and turn their head to keep their own job. They are just as guilty but they have seen what happens to those who speak up against it. It takes a submissive personality to accept that. Better to look elsewhere for an environment of strong leadership who sets the right example. Some areas are ran like a group of manipulative sorority sisters or fraternity brothers -- their mentality is to "remain silent and protect the guilty if you want to keep your job.". If you can live like that, then you are a good match.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the manipulation and lies. People see through it. Clean house from the top down! Stop allowing supervisors hire based on person connections. Their old school ways have crippled the university. Too many are taking advantage of university dollars and others won't speak up and do the right thing.
