Pros

Location is good (i.e. Near DC and other I-95 corrdior cities), weather is good, and the facilities in the chemistry department are adequate.

Cons

Lab space could use an update, but otherwise everything works well and research can be done at high level!

I have been working at University of Maryland full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You will have a flexible schedule, and challenging coursework and labwork to complete, but the most important part is finding a solid adviser.

    Cons

The expectation of constant availability and work can be stressful, and managing classes and research is a skill that comes only after one learns to expect that lab tasks will take longer than first imagined.
