Pros

State benefits, low pressure, some stability

Cons

No innovation, not eager to think out of the box, not a ton of room for growth

Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and try to understand the big picture. Do not assume because things have run a certain way that it is the right way.

    Pros

Progressive management, diversity, unionized employees make for a worker-friendly environment. The surroundings are clean, safe, and urbane; nice place to raise a family.

    Cons

Underfunded and undervalued by state; there seems to be money for new buildings but not for resources to support employees.

    Advice to Management

Work more closely with the legislature to get necessary support, and honor faculty governance. Take more responsibility to raise funds; faculty and staff have enough on their plates already.
