A strange place by commercial measures... but then again, it's a university for crying out loud...

I have been working at University of Melbourne

Prosif you can survive the speed (or lack thereof) and want to retire safely, this is a place for you. great for people with no aspirations, professional or otherwise.

Conslow wage, aging staff, no real incentives to develop, political in an academic sort of way, slow moving, academic in nature, no respect for professional staff

Advice to Senior Managementhard to say really. It is all relative to the education environment. Something tells me that the "university of the future" isn't going to look like this.

Great people - not always consistent management coming from the top.
