I have been working at University of Michigan full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

It would be a great place to work with decent management.

Cons

Staff morale is bad in Med School Administration. The current management and leadership is the worst I've ever worked for. There's an inexcusable lack of fairness, appreciation, and respect for staff. Among other weirdness, there's a very disturbing trend where people with no experience get the best career opportunities and promotions, creating bad feelings and hurting unity. The Dean's Office is a disaster - it's hard to tell who, if anyone, is in charge there and the normal rules, policies, and conduct are routinely ignored or overruled. It's like the Wild West. Stay away.

Advice to Management

Start paying attention. It sucks here and you're going pay a price for that eventually.

I worked at University of Michigan part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You talk to some interesting alumni for 5-7 minutes before you have to start bothering them for money.

    Cons

You must pester and manipulate people for money. You must be able to handle repeated verbal rejection and criticism.

    Advice to Management

Four asks, each of lesser amounts, is excessive and puts strain on employees. Two specific asks followed by one open (any amount, even $5, would be appreciated) would put less strain on callers and alums.
