Probably more good than bad; everything dependent on which department you work in.

I worked at University of Michigan full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great onsite CME opportunities (if your department supports PA attendance) & overall good resourses to provide quality care. Quality nursing & support staff on day shift.

    Cons

Many departments/sections do not utilize PAs/NPs to full capabilities. Parking is expensive & not convenient - plan an extra 30 minutes to get from car to job site & vice versa. Poorly staffed on off shifts.

I worked at University of Michigan part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Full time employees get great benefits and compensation. Good people work there, living in Ann Arbor is a great experience, the city is absolutely amazing! They hire entry level well paying positions. It's also great work for students, very laid back. Sometimes you get to move around to different university buildings and walking around at U of M can be a joy!

    Cons

Difficult to park around campus if you don't have staff parking. Parking in garages can add up. They are very strict against sending personal emails and messages on work computers and office jobs can be very boring, especially when working alone.

    Neutral Outlook
