Pros

The internship gives you great exposure to nonprofit management and major gift fundraising, access to senior management in the university's office of development, and a strong foundation for beginning a career in development.

Cons

Pay could be better, but that's par for the course at a nonprofit. Th university is a little bureaucratic, and there are limits to how quickly you can advance, regardless of performance.

    Pros

The university of Michigan has great work life balance. They provide good benefits and the people are wonderful. A great place to work.

    Cons

The employment process is a bit slow. There is always a lot of red tape to get things done. If you are a grant funded position, there is always a little bit of nervousness about job stability.
