Little advancement, good place to work while you work on completing an educational degree

I have been working at University of Minnesota

    Pros

Most supervisors are accommodating when you are working on your educational degree. Ability to take care of family issues is another positive aspect.

    Cons

Almost no opportunities for advancement. No internal leadership development. If you are lucky enough to make a job switch your skills, education, and qualifications do not matter only what your salary was in a previous position for determining your new salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People who are working at the University have a desire to grow and advance beyond their current job classifications. Not everyone wants to work in the same job for 30 years.

I have been working at University of Minnesota

    Pros

Resourceful place to study, develop and do scientific research. And also a fun place with Rec center, Coffman, Dinkytown, etc.

    Cons

You have to be aware of culture difference if you are like me an international. I need to say that UMN is a pretty open-minded place to study and work generally, but more and/or specific orientations/trainings beside language would help me more to grow better.
