Current Employee – been working at University of Minnesota full-time for more than 3 years

Pros – Some pros of working at the University of Minnesota are a relaxed pace, a lot of interesting folks around doing great research, and an incredible variety of opportunities. Job security is also pretty good for most people.

Cons – Depending on where exactly you land a position, you may not be particularly challenged in your job. If you look around though, you can definitely find something that works for you. Because it's a huge bureaucracy, you have to be willing to get out of your own department and find opportunities that can advance your career, they won't just fall in your lap.
