I have been working at University of Minnesota part-time for more than 5 years

Pros

The University of Minnesota allows personal and professional growth to those who take advantage of the opportunities offered. There are offers of professional business classes as well as challenges to learn for everyone.

Cons

Teaching is a lot of work and you have to understand that your wages aren't as competitive as they would be in the private sector. Parking is expensive and not covered for part time employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to work as hard as you do to make the University of Minnesota a place that is friendly for students and teachers alike.

I worked at University of Minnesota full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits and competitive pay. Beautiful campus. Friendly co-workers.

    Cons

Disrespected by many of the faculty, often felt like a hierarchy. Not as much opportunities for advancement. Tuition hikes have become an issue over the years and it's becoming increasingly harder to afford going to the U of MN.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to create a more cohesive balance among all job classification levels. Sometimes feels like a caste system.
