I have been working at University of Nevada, Reno part-time for less than a year

Pros

Working on campus and for the university makes it easy to balance academic and social aspects of college.

Cons

Getting paid minimum wage isn't very awesome but you honestly don't do enough to be upset by the minimal pay scale.

I have been working at University of Nevada, Reno part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You can find some world class faculty in UNR. Good area, lots of sunshine, lakeTahoe, casinos and ski resorts.

    Cons

The university and the city as a whole is not academically motivated. Keep increasing the tuition and the state cuts budget continuously after the economy downturn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better treatment of graduate assistants who are the actual workforce in this business, would be a plus . As a married international graduate assistant, I have the same low wage ($1400) for four years with no dental or vision benefit and no vacation, I would recommend reviewing related policies. Some universities allow dependents of the graduate assistants to study with in-state tuition but we don't have that one either.
