I have been working at University of North Carolina full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great environment, beautiful campus, great colleagues, low stress. Mission-driven and most people are devoted to their work. Open, thoughtful environment.

    Cons

State employee salary and (lack of) benefits. Not much opportunity for growth. Can be stodgy, bureaucratic at times. Feels hard to make a difference. Budget woes for 5+ years, can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work hard to repair recently tarnished reputation. Make bold decisions!
