Low paying student job, friendly coworkers and managers, difficult clientele, working for the Financial Aid Office

Information Officer At Financial Aid and Scholarships Office (Current Employee) Eugene, OR

ProsThe job is relatively simple, somewhat like call center work. It is also seasonal, so they usually hire on in the summer when things are really busy. Once you learn the ropes, the office is rather helpful in ensuring you've got your feet on the ground before you're entrusted with too much responsibility.

ConsThe pay is rather low, and often you are dealing with very angry, anxious and aggravated sorts of people. The key is to be patient, and hopefully this job is some sort of supplemental income to your student life.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement does a relatively good job of listening, so there isn't much to say here.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Graduate Teaching Fellow

Graduate Teaching Fellow (Former Employee) Eugene, OR

I worked at University of Oregon part-time for more than a year

Pros: There's a union, with so-so health benefits. The pay isn't horrible… Cons: The top-to-bottom function of the University is a mess. Advice to Senior Management: What are the goals? Try to come up with… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
