I worked at University of Oregon part-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great Pay and Benefits
Not very hard work, and 9-5 schedule
Highly educated co-workers

Cons

The students you meet and develop relationships leave after 4 years (hopefully)
They don't always hire from within
long and extensive application

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a little more faith in the students, the humans frontal lobe doesn't fully develop until they turn 25. You were a stupid co-ed too at some point!

I have been working at University of Oregon part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The job is relatively simple, somewhat like call center work. It is also seasonal, so they usually hire on in the summer when things are really busy. Once you learn the ropes, the office is rather helpful in ensuring you've got your feet on the ground before you're entrusted with too much responsibility.

    Cons

The pay is rather low, and often you are dealing with very angry, anxious and aggravated sorts of people. The key is to be patient, and hopefully this job is some sort of supplemental income to your student life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management does a relatively good job of listening, so there isn't much to say here.
