I have been working at University of Phoenix full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay, lots of time off from day one. Education benefits are good. Best part is that it is expected that you take time for yourself.

    Cons

Uncertainty, constant change, inbred leadership. Too many people in upper middle management have been there too long. There are better people inside and outside the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from outside enrollment. So many of leaders are from one department and most have little business savvy.

I have been working at University of Phoenix as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You can work from anywhere in the US. They also have smart phone applications. Definite supplemental income.

    Cons

Little pay for time consumed. Program changes without adequate announcement for instructors. Mose often students are required to do less work with instructor expectations remaining or increasing. Students aren't held to standard level of college performance with fewer responsibilities.
Instructor's time is not valued. When broken down-- current salary schedule... instructor pay is about $25/hr. (instructors must have advanced degrees)
