I worked at University of Phoenix as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Focus on educational excellence for faculty and students. The administration was supportive of professional development for faculty and encouraged us to publish in our respective fields.

    Cons

The campus I worked out seemed to have too many faculty for the number of classes being offered leaving long gaps between contracts for some staff members. On the other hand I worked ten months straight one year and eight the next.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sorry that they closed our campus but understand the financial realities of ground campuses. I enjoyed my time working with the University of Phoenix.

I worked at University of Phoenix full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    valuable training
    co-workers
flexible schedule is a huge plus

    Cons

    high turnover rates
    environmental changes every few months
job description changes every few weeks
    meetings about meetings
gossip and rumors are the bread and butter of UOP

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management should give an ear to enrollment. Enrollment Advisors are the machine that keep UOP running; replacing EA's every few months or even annually is pretty costly. I'm not sure how much longer UOP will survive with the current management in place.
