I have been working at University of Phoenix

    Pros

Great co workers, great students. The environment was great and fun to be in. Faculty are professional and knowledgeable.

    Cons

Downsizing, not promotions, underpaid, have not hired a new employee in two years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A lot of the problems with the company was out of the managements hands. Many of the decisions that were made were non transparent and left the employees with a lot of doubts about the company

I have been working at University of Phoenix as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great school to work with, and for in the Higher Education sector. Training is thorough, and helpful, we had a mentor throughout the first class. There are people immediately available to help if and when necessary. Lots of great resources for teaching too.

    Cons

Money is not great, but typically one doesn't teach as an adjunct for the pay! Would be nice to receive more offers to teach (on a contract basis), but I do get at least one offer per year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow those of us with time in as adjunct faculty to move into our area of expertise before hiring new faculty from outside (teaching general ed. classes right now).
