    Pros

If you have not started there yet, make sure you NEGOTIATE WHEN GIVEN YOUR OFFER. The rate you start out will determine the rate you get your entire career at University of Pittsburgh no matter what department you go to. All job position changes/promotions are based on a percentage of your starting salary. Trust me, it takes so much paperwork to make a hire offer that unless the department has got a cap they will work with you. Too many people start at a horrible base pay and then can never make that up. Benefits are great. Tuition benefit is great, especially if you have kids. Medical benefits are very good. Retirement benefits are good once your vested. 150 percent match.

    Cons

Middle management is horrible. This is a university wide problem.
