I have been working at University of Pittsburgh full-time

    Pros

The University of Pittsburgh does a great job to ensure that the men's and women's basketball programs receive the same perks. The coaches offices, player's locker rooms, and video rooms are mirror images. They truly abided by the rule that what's good for one gender is just as good for the other.

    Cons

The University of Pittsburgh athletic leadership did not display the best leadership for sports other than football and men's basketball.

I have been working at University of Pittsburgh full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You can find great researchers, as well as plenty of resources. Although sometimes not without glitches, communication across schools/departments is doable. Also, great city to live in.

    Cons

There is way too much bureaucracy, and unnecessary paperwork. The rate of staff to researchers is way too high, and staff is often not well prepared. Technology seems to be entering this university at turtle pace... a lot of paperwork and signatures are required for processes that in other places where I have worked have been automatized for over a decade. Absurd!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Update systems! Hire people who are not technologically impaired, or if you want to keep administrative staff, train them.
