Pros

The work environment is rochester is very good. I have So much fun doing research at the university of rochester. The faculties are helpful

Cons

I don't think there are any cons related to rochester. Rochester is a good place where you have a lot of research opportunities.

    I have been working at University of Rochester full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    The University of Rochester offers very competitive health care, retirement, and educational benefits. They are definitely among the top in Rochester in this regard.

    Cons

    Unfortunately the starting salaries for my position were lower than the industry standard. They are not the only large employer in Rochester doing this though. Fortunately I was able to negotiate for a higher salary.

    I have been working at University of Rochester part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    As a student worker, working for IT, I was able to make money on the side while helping out my peers.
    Great supervisors were very understanding and supportive
    Got great experience with professional technical skills
    Fits very well into schedule. Very easy to maintain the hours you need with the workload you have.

    Cons

    The university has a very disjoint HR department which can cause problems and headache if one has multiple jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work. Put pressure on the schools HR department to do a better job.
