Current Employee - Resident Assistant in San Diego, CA

I have been working at University of San Diego full-time for more than a year

Pros

The compensation (room and meal plan) and the close relationship with the professional staff are great perks to the Resident Assistant job. The job itself also allows for a lot of personal growth as you are constantly challenged to confront and adapt to unpredictable situations that may occur in the residence halls.

Cons

The meal plan could be expanded for Resident Assistants who are living in Freshman areas and do not have kitchens, otherwise it's great!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expand the meal plan for freshman areas.

I have been working at University of San Diego part-time for more than a year

    Pros

It was easy to go to work in between classes which is a huge plus because you get more hours while being efficient with the day.

    Cons

There aren't too many huge career opportunities after, leaving this pretty much a job that you talk about at interviews but don't expect to stay in it after you graduate.

  2.

Decent place to work, but the relevance for future employment is up to you

Current Employee - Student Employee in San Diego, CA

I have been working at University of San Diego as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Location, hours available because more financially stable students drop shifts easily,

    Cons

Not much opportunity for any real advancement. Pay isn't great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try harder to keep exemplary employees around so you don't have to waste money training unproven students for the same position.
