Pros

Lively town, great people, young professionals, great weather and far from crowded areas of north east and california. This place is growing and is tech heavy

Cons

There are not many firms near but outside Austin. The exposure towards other areas of work are increasing, but not the greatest at this point

    Worldwide famous electrochmists
    Plenty of funding
    Patent filed by UT, no worry for the process
    A lot of alumnis as your support

    Cons

    MSE (materials science and engineering) is just a program, not a department
    The MSE ranking is just okay, around 20 in the USA
