I worked at University of Toronto

Pros

- lots of helpful employees
- interesting focus of work
- overall an ok experience, but can find better opportunities

Cons

- lab technician uneducated and unfriendly, could not perform simple tasks; as a result the job of researchers becomes more difficult
-work-study students are made to do menial tasks and not given interesting work; you can do much better in terms of a work-study position

I have been working at University of Toronto as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

good practice of your communication skills. you learn to become an independent worker. Rather than being told what to do every step of the way, you learn to plan, execute, and self evaluate.

    Cons

Need to communicate with professors carefully because each has his or her own expectations. Expectations can very greatly.
