Learning experience depends on the Professor you work with

Research Assistant (Current Employee) Toronto, ON (Canada)

Pros- Hands on exposure to R&D
- Surrounded by dedicated Master's and PhD candidates who are very bright and dedicated
- Possibility to write research papers for technical/science journals
- Not a lot of stress

Cons- Low pay
- Can get caught up doing menial jobs sometimes
- The overall experience strongly influenced by the Professor heading the research lab (Choose the Professor wisely)

Advice to Senior Management- Not all undergraduate research assistants are cheap labor, some of them have great ideas (again, this varies from Prof. to Prof. Some value undergrads a lot, some are opposite)

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
