They don't pay at a competitive rate, for all the extras that an MA will do at the hospital

I worked at University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Good benefits-but have found equal elsewhere. Only worked 3 days a week. Some of the best and smartest I've ever worked with.

Cons

Constantly understaffed.
Low pay, with little to no chance of a raise.
Don't know about areas of improvement until you are being written up or on your annual review.
No option to move departments when medically recommended.

    Pros

The people are talented and good people at the worker level. Benefits are good but have gone down lately

    Cons

Management is closed door and power hungry. When multiple cases of harassment and bullying management techniques were reported, nobody did anything. Directors will do and say anything to look good to the C-Level but treat employees terrible.

I have been working at University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics

    Pros

The benefits are amazing. Some of the best retirement and health benefits in the state. Also, tuition reduction (50%) for employees, spouses, and dependents is great. The pay is at comparable to anywhere I have seen. They pay you what you are worth.

    Cons

Parking is a hassle. The cafeteria is expensive and because parking is so bad you can't really leave for lunch. This makes breaks a little expensive or you have to bring your own.
