It all depends on which department you work for.

Accounting Specialist (Current Employee)
Salt Lake City, UT

I have been working at University of Utah full-time for more than 8 years

ProsGreat benefits and flexible schedules (provided your department allows this - most do). Understanding of work/life balance. Great Vacation and Sick. The pay is OK, but you have to negotiate well when you take the job since "raises" are only inflation adjustments - therefore you never make more unless you move positions.

ConsIt all depends on the department but there is a high concentration of unqualified managers with no people skills. It seems most have been rewarded with a managerial position because they were there long enough - not because they had the skills.

Advice to Senior ManagementNot sure any advice would be heeded.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
