Pros

Worked with very nice people and there were other nice people higher up in the management, just terrible in the department I worked in.

Cons

Very unprofessional and immature management. I was very disappointed and expected much more from the University of Utah. This job changed my view of the University because I was disgusted with the management and what they get away with.

Advice to Management

Senior management needs to take a closer look at the managers that are dealing directly with the employees. The ones I experienced were VERY unprofessional, and immature.

    Pros

Cutting edge research, cross-disciplinary faculty, with expertise in many areas of computing. Weekly colloquia, invited speakers and seminars. Free sodas, free coffie, ping pong, foosball. Great environment to work in. Located near by some of the best wilderness in the US. Cost of living is cheap.

    Cons

    Isolated from other major cities.

  2. Best University I have ever been to, and best culture and professionalism

    Pros

    - Lots of RA and TA opportunities
    - Lots of respect to students as if they were colleagues to professors
    - Top notch research projects
    - Best of class environment: all grad students with research interests are offered an office in - school (no not cubical, a real office).
    - True involvement in leading research projects

    Cons

    - Difficult to get a full-time professor job (as is the case in all universities)
    - University Housing is not that good for such a prestigious university (It should show better standards).

    Advice to Management

Please renew students family housing, it is truly getting too old and not functional at all (Windows aren't opened in 2-bed apartments and very old decorations, carpets and facilities).
