I worked at University of Virginia part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Access to university events, consistent hours, and flexible work for a university student who is taking a full time course load. Working on a college campus provides a fun and exciting atmosphere.

    Cons

Level of employee talent is not equivalent to the private sector. Employees take advantage of university system, as it is almost impossible to get let go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work toward a better employee evaluation program to prevent employees from remaining at UVA too long if they are underachieving.
