    Negative Outlook

    Pros

    Residential tutor +ves:
    - personal growth & learning (emphasis on personal, i.e. NOT supplied by Warwick)
    - zero rent !!!
    - making contacts/friends
    - valuable, transferable skills & experience

    Cons

    Residential tutor -ves:
    - HIGHLY dependent on the residence on which you are placed & your co-worker, specifically sub-warden & warden
    - can mean little to NO support
    - HIGHLY dependent on students:. PG vs UG or UG specific student types eg. JM vs AV vs HB

    Advice to Management

The problems with the residential tutor program start at the TOP and work their way down i.e. the head of Residential Life and his Warden's are crucial to the support and experience of the tutors and hence students. Having the correct party line is not the same as walking it. Nepotism further aggravates the intrinsic issues which turned what started out as an enjoyable and valuable experience into something that I would NOT recommend to others, except -sadly- for the money, which should NOT be a motivation for considering/taking this job position.
