I have been working at University of Washington part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Highly rated academic institution; flexibility in schedule; excellent benefits; access to public transportation; varied teaching opportunities (day, evening, online - degree and certificate programs)

    Cons

Part time employment does not pay well and the University is moving to more adjuncts/part-time faculty just like community colleges. It's all fine well and good for budgets but not for faculty or students.
