I have been working at University of Washington full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits are great. The location is beautiful and close to food and shopping. If you can get in to a niche with a great boss, you'll enjoy working here.

    Cons

There's a general lack of work-life balance. Due to the size of the organization and the tendency to hire from within the UW community, change is slow. Everyone is used to the way they've always done it, so that's how things continue to be done, resulting in a lot of inefficiency and workarounds.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring expensive consultants and just listen to your employees. They'll both give you the same answers.
