Pros

Univita Health was a fantastic place to work. The employees were amazing, pay was great, and I learned a lot of things to help me in finishing my degree. It was beneficial overall.

Cons

The location was far away from my home, so the commute was not my favorite, but it was well worth it and I am so happy for doing this expereience

Miramar location is not the place if you are looking for growth.....think really hard first.........

    Pros

I gained valuable experience in the healthcare industry because of dealing with insurance contracts, patients and other medical professionals. Location is easily accessed by major roads and highways.......health benefits are ok

    Cons

Mid-level Management has no leadership qualities or capabilities....pay is low compared to the cost of living in the south Florida area and the amount of stress that comes with the job......it is quite obvious that the senior level management is way out of touch with the work environment of their employees probably because they are concentrated mainly in other locations up north...my personal experience is that I have been insulted several times by supervisors and my fellow co-workers....there is no privacy of information shared between co-workers and supervisors....in some departments people are forced to stay overtime and if you can't you get threatened with a write up!!! We understand that things change constantly in the work environment but when employees are promised one thing then later find out that you have been blatantly lied to by management is really unsettling....the parking is ridiculous.....we receive constant emails throughout the day asking employees to move their car or it will be towed!!! Then we are told to take a shuttle to a parking lot off site-very aggravating!! The training is ....lets just say there is literally no proper training given- its all over the place and many of the "specialist" never show up for their scheduled presentation in the training...they throw you to the wolves and depending on what department you are in-DONT even ask you co-workers for help because you will be ignored.......the systems that we use are slow and mediocre......employee responsibilities are changed on a regular basis by the supervisors with any advance notice....you just come in one day and then told "Oh, you are doing this now!".......working here has been very frustrating and all you hear is complaints from all my co-workers...people walk off the job constantly due to stress and hostility.......definitely very hard to grow with the job at this location......this is a place to come- gain experience and find something better where people are at least respectful to their co-workers.....its easier dealing with the customers than the co-workers...unbelievable!!!!! I know this economy is hard but if you come here you have to have a tough skin and stay focused....because this place can take you there.....

Oh- I almost forgot- in the Customer Service department you are to work an 8 hour shift with only a half an hour lunch and no 15 min breaks as you normally get in other companies........there is no cafeteria with hot meals being served on site---so the only way to get lunch is to bring your own or struggle to go on the street to buy food in the space of an half hour and risk loosing your parking spot.....!!!!

    Advice to Management

Get qualified people to lead....not because someone has been with your company in an entry level role for a number of years means they can lead others.....you should start focus groups or something so that you can hear what your employees feel about the company and we can voice our concerns on the many ways you can improve the flow of business- our direct supervisors also have a "don't care" attitude towards the organization and that reflects on the other employees and your customers....so get up from behind your big desks and walk around or travel to this site in Miramar and feel whats really going on.........and threatening your employees with write-ups when we voice our concerns is unacceptable----this is not kindergarten.....

    Pros

very detailed information given in all areas of accountability for my position, very positive, helpful team of employees in all areas of the company, I love working here; love the bonus bucks for going above and beyond and the IACT program form employees to recognize a job well done by other employees

    Cons

I would like to see more opportunities for home based/telecommuting employees to interface with their co workers ie: events, volunteering together, etc; opportunity to cross train for other areas inthe company and an intranet sharing forum for us to use to post suggestions/tips to improve our effeciency; I would like to have access with our external customers whether it be through a company liasion or us directly so we can let them know what some possible areas of concern are, make suggestions for improvements, seems like there is a disconnect here when I raise an issue
