Project Engineer

Project Engineer (Former Employee) Chantilly, VA

ProsYou get the opportunity to work on a plethera of different engineering projects, as opposed to being stuck just doing one element of a plan.

ConsLow paying firm that lures employees by promising 'all the overtime you can work' and considers the overtime a 'gift' from Urban. Unless you are at the Associate level you will be overworked and underpaid.

Advice to Senior ManagementBring salaries to a point that matches engineering companies in the area. Appreciate the engineers you have in an effort to reduce 'turnover'. Urban has lost way too many good engineers due to keeping all profits at the Associate level and above. Reward the guys that do the grunt work to make the money.

    Horrible work environment

Project Manager (Former Employee) Annandale, VA

I worked at Urban Engineering full-time for more than 5 years

Pros: You get to work on a lot of projects independently and will have contact with clients, reviewers & contractors etc.… Cons: I worked at the Annandale office for 6 years and that office is a sweat shop. You are left on your own, they don't want… Advice to Senior Management: Ed Sears built the company from scratch and i'm sure he worked very hard to get it to where it is today but the direction… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
