I worked at Urban Outfitters

Pros

you can wear whatever you want. you can have tattoos and piercings and not have to hide it. they encourage you to be whoever you want to be.

Cons

i was salary but they definitely worked me over 40 hours a week and didn't compensate for the extra hours. the upper management team only used negative renforcement. when i had a major issue and went to my district manager, nothing was done and then the person i had issues with was told by my DM and that person confronted me causing even more drama that was not needed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat everyone fair across the board. dont let some management get away with murder and others get treated if they are the outcast.

I have been working at Urban Outfitters

    Pros

Attractive campus, free gym for employees, generous employee discount, bring dogs to work, anything goes dress code, huge cafeteria and coffee shop

    Cons

Poor compensation, promotions based on favoritism rather than abilities, no tuition reimbursement programs, limited holidays off, poor performing employees allowed to continue behavior because it's easier

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote based on merit rather than friendships, provide laptops to all employees to allow for more flexibility in scheduling

I have been working at Urban Outfitters

    Pros

the discount is great and the only reason I am still there. The pay is horrible I took a pay cut just to get this job.

    Cons

They show favoritism a lot. They don't promote you as quick. The staff is some what divided between the employees and management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire better managers, be more courteous and you dicisioon for things and employee hires. Don't shoe favoritism either it's not cool.
