I have been working at Urban Outfitters full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-starting pay of $8.00 (.75 cents above my states minimum wage)
-you work hard and you immediately see how it pays off
    -great coworkers & amazing management
    -laid back environment
    -no dress code
    -AMAZING discount

    Cons

-The only main con is that if you're closing, you have to stay 2-3 hours past closing time to make the store look pristine and perfect again. Once in a while, the store will do "perfect closes"- where the store is literally impeccable, and you could easily be there until 3 AM.
-Also, if you think that by working retail you won't have to get up early, you are sorely mistaken. Openers get there anywhere from 5 am-8 am, even though the store opens at 10.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honestly.. can't think of how I could do it any better.

    I worked at Urban Outfitters

    Pros

At the beginning, the staff was great. People got along and it was a fun place to work.

    Cons

The management got worse and new hires made it unbearable to stay on. The only kind of people left were the gossips and the drama queens. Apart from the awful managers, the district manager was a total nightmare. I don't even know how she got the job. She doesn't look like she fits into the Urban environment, she is mature in age, and she is a know-it-all. There was no sense of appreciation - even when you stayed past midnight during closing shifts. The fact that there were no raises added to the 'Stay Away' list of this unappealing work place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do your job. Stop trying to intimidate the employees and start appreciating them. If you don't like one or more of them, at least have a good reason. Being catty is not a good reason. Be mature and act your age.
