I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (more than a year)

Pros

-Lots of responsibility - if you want it
-Fun coworkers
-Employee discount is great
-If you play the game, you can work your way up the ranks

Cons

-They align promotions with annual raises so they don't need to do both
-The pay is not great - especially in locations outside of big cities
-Depending on the store/management, scheduling is not accessible online, and rarely done far in advance (i.e. you must drive to the store when you're off work to see when you work next)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start using security cameras if you truly have a focus on loss prevention.

I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    fun environment
    laid back atmosphere
    pretty cool discount
snacks and t-shirts for black friday

    Cons

    snotty/uppity management
very cliquey-- kiss ass or get no where
if you're seasonal you get treated like a freshman in high school
    shifts reflect favoritism
very high work expectation.. to do things that were never taught to you
hipster prerequisite (I mean duh, it's UO, but don't be so shallow)
    old technology
having only a clipboard schedule (written in pencil I might add.. conniving coworkers could easily erase)...shouldn't this be available online?
low wages-- not worth the work
long hours when closing (was working 'til 2-3am at least once a week)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

consider getting a new management team altogether. treat sales associates with respect. train new hires better, pay overtime for long closing days, or at least offer bonuses. and an online schedule, please!

I have been working at Urban Outfitters part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Discount
    Nice associate
Good Clothing to look at during the day.

    Cons

    Favoritisim shows on the schedule
Mangers break the rules they make
    Shady and underhanded
Hours are not given out fairly. They'd rather give all the hours to certain people that have school/other jobs and inconvenience them just because they have the "look" rather then give it to a bunch of other employees who have open availability.
Sadly These are the same employees who steal, slack off on the job, complain, and talk about the managers behind their backs, and IGNORE CUSTOMERS
But due to their personal style they get all the hours. While hardworking employees have to toil for the few left over

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

White Plains UO, you might want to take a closer look who you give hours too. Some over your employees have a habit of only looking busy when your around.
