I worked at Urban Outfitters full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Opportunities to be creative, dress as you want, some good people, but mostly leave after 6 months.

    Cons

To many cooks in the kitchen, no focus by the company. High turnover rate of managers and sales associates. Lack of professionalism is rampant. Bad work life balance, is common for managers to loose vacation time and require to work during breaks, and overtime. Very rare to get 2 consecutive days off in a row. Be ready to chase shoplifters around the store for hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop talking about giving good customer, and really start treating the customers and fellow team members with respect. Senior Management should have sit downs with managers to figure out solutions to problems, and give positive criticism.

I have been working at Urban Outfitters part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Meeting Cool People, the discount, being able to express your sense of style

    Cons

Poor Management, rude management, terrible hours (unless you're someones friend), "on-call" shifts, 5 hour shifts rather than full 8 hour shifts, shift cutting, high expectations with low pay, no real raises, no real chance to advance in company (unless you're someones friend), cliques, petty drama

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop micromanaging, train your management properly on how to talk to employees, stop being so shallow, say thank you once in awhile, give full shifts.
