Advice to ManagementAdvice

embrace those who work hard and give them more hours over just hiring more dead weight

    Pros

Meeting Cool People, the discount, being able to express your sense of style

    Cons

Poor Management, rude management, terrible hours (unless you're someones friend), "on-call" shifts, 5 hour shifts rather than full 8 hour shifts, shift cutting, high expectations with low pay, no real raises, no real chance to advance in company (unless you're someones friend), cliques, petty drama

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop micromanaging, train your management properly on how to talk to employees, stop being so shallow, say thank you once in awhile, give full shifts.

Fun atmosphere with laid back management

I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Decent discount on clothing, great coworkers, fun atmosphere, management listens and are understanding. Great place to work while in college. You are kept busy, but not overworked. Promotions come from your work performance, not just your tenure.

    Cons

With such a large company comes a disconnect between management, regional management, and corporate. Favoritism, albeit a minor issue, was present. Acting on promises occasionally was a false hope with management. I suggest you continually pester management if you want team lead, etc. Do not settle for just being told that you will eventually become Team Lead or something other.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Act on your responsibilities, not your emotions.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
