Pros

The culture is amazing. They want their employees to feel nurtured and appreciated. Look forward to a thorough training process and plenty of chance for internal growth. They stress community involvement and giving and support that mission. This company "walks the walk".

Cons

All of your friends will constantly harass you about getting them jobs!

Advice to Management

Continue to reinforce the cultural atmosphere. It is what gets top talent to come to you!

Lots of cliques and infighting. All the liabilities of a start up and an established company.

    Pros

    flexible hours
    average pay
    average benefits
some ability to move between groups - assuming you can network the move ahead of time
still looks good on a resume

    Cons

    vision is gone
    penny pinching has set in
one hour of discussions required per minute of actual work accomplished
rules by Excel spreadsheets that govern each fiefdom
no reward for loyalty - the longer you stay the more likely you'll wind up on the purge list
no training unless its on your own time

    Advice to Management

Try to stick with a plan longer than it took to come up with it.
Leading the industry only works as long as the industry actually follows.
Try taking a survey after an "all hands" meeting and see how many attendees actually understood what you were trying to convey.

    Pros

Renewals are still relatively easy to do but...

    Cons

Politics, politics, politics! If you're a friend of Carl's, then you might be OK. Otherwise, prepare to languish. Merit, effort and results are meaningless. Either you're in the cliche or you'll never get ahead.

    Advice to Management

Pat, take off the blind fold and inspect your direct reports. Muster up some courage and establish some accountability. Status quo is resigning to failure. Only bold, structural changes will right the fast sinking ship.
