Good technology, great engineers and first level engineering managers.

Cons

too much politics in the ranks. Politics is promoted rather than quashed. Senior management doesnt get the right information, and are surrounded by people who play the political game. Forget career growth or opportunity to work cross functionally or cross BU.

Advice to Senior Management

Stop the science projects, care for people's career growth and they will return the favor to the company in multiples of your inputs, promote cross-polination of talent from engineering management to other business functions (marketing, sales, PM, BD) and vice versa.
