I have been working at VWR International full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Company weathered the recession well. If you make yourself invaluable, you will be noticed (depending on your manager/department).

Cons

Often not a clear advancement path. Certain business units are "restructured" somewhat frequently. Tendency to move low-level jobs to India.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

As is true with many companies, senior management seems to have little idea what goes on at the lower levels and make sweeping decisions on a whim. Sometimes it feels like they restructure the company every year just because they need something to do. Generally they do right by the employees though.

I have been working at VWR International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Make your own schedule, and I get to work from my home office. I have a great manager and teammates. I have received high quality sales training.

    Cons

It is not a 9-5 schedule, some of the work does come home with you. There are millions of products and thousands of suppliers that you have to have some knowledge of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would suggest more "hands-on" product training. It allows the sales force to use the products as our customers would. We get to feel, touch, see the types of products that we are trying to sell to them.
