Pros

The product and people are wonderful. Employees are passionate about creating Experiences of a Lifetime for the guests. This translates into creating incredible experiences for employees ranging from experiencing the multiple products the company has to offer to innovating the next product that will change the industry. There is no question Vail Resorts is the best in the world in their industry.

Cons

The company can be extremely demanding on its employees. It has many irons in the fire at any given time and this taxes many employees and creates burnout. Additionally, the compensation tends to be lower than market. I believe these contribute to the high turnover the organization has experienced in its professional positions.

Get a reality grip on people's performance and what they actually contribute
Show a little more appreciation to all employees and the hard work they do, even if you don't like their "sales stats"
Don't nit-pick to death, and give inaccuarate, off-based reviews to employees

I worked at Vail Resorts full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You work outside. Your office is the mountain view that most would die for. You teach and help others. You can ski or ride for free on your days off.

    Cons

The company only cares for profits for its share holders and do not care about their employees. They do not care if you are hired full time and only give you 3 or less days of work some weeks and give you no days off other weeks. They do not hire experienced or professional supervisors. They are not insterested in your morale, you are a warm body that can be replaced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about the people you hire and they will care more about the company. It is a simple idea.
