I worked at Valdosta State University part-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Very flexible and willing to work with your class schedule. Your direct supervisors understand that you are in school and it is your main focus and respect that. Don't push them too far, and you shouldn't have to worry about work getting in the way of school.

Cons

It is minimum wage, no matter how long you work there.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give students who raises based on tenure and how good they are at their job. Also, give them more responsibilities.

I worked at Valdosta State University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A number of departments actually hold a standard of very little required work production. The pay for similar work is above average. The health plan rates are great especially if you have a family.

    Cons

Big problem of conflicting demands by division heads not involved or trained in the (other) fields they are attempting to control. High tendency to promote incompetency. Extreme disregard for following their own rules and policies. If anyplace is in dire need of a labor union it is here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corrupt supervisors need terminated. Begin following your own policies.
