Valspar is a demanding but rewarding place to work

Chemist I (Current Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsUnique opportunities to learn and grow professionally. It's a very fast paced atmosphere with new challenges almost daily. You are given a lot of rope to manage your projects, but are held accountable for delivering.

ConsTypically work more than 40 hours per week, frequent weekend and holiday work as well. Requires about 20 to 25% travel. Very often travel is required with minimal notice. There does not seem to be any incentive (financial) for those who are willing to travel when asked (other than an occassional "thank you"). There is a disparity in the travel requirement, i.e. some folks refuse to travel.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would appreciate it if those who are willing to travel are given more compensation.

Pros: Close to home and don't use alot of gas to get there. I started out at the bottom and now work in the lab. This… Cons: People don't respect good hard work. People don't always respect you for your job well done. There is too many times when you are left… Advice to Senior Management: To pay attention to the people that are left alone… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More
