Pros

Funny people to work with. Time flies by when we keep busy.

Cons

No set raise system. They will often skip giving you a raise on time. Poor pay. High turnover system is praised. GM's and their assistents don't care about the crew, just the money that we bring in.

Advice to Management

Try and keep good techs, csr's and reward them with an appropriate hourly rate. Stop supporting system that has an outstanding turnover rate. Customers see that and choose not to come to the shop where there are ALWAYS new trainees working on their cars.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Positive Culture, growth opportunities, management cares about employees and communities, strong commitment to environmental stewardship, good benefits & pay, storied history in its industry and in racing, pleasant work environment, employee fitness center onsite.

    Cons

Lean organization resulting in stressful workload and deadlines, significant travel required in high number of positions, more restrictive work attire (no jeans).

    Advice to Management

Perception that marketing positions within Valvoline are valued more than other positions (i.e. supply chain, support groups, etc.) seems to be a common complaint.

  2. Not much room for personal or professional growth.

    Pros

People are friendly, owners are great to work for.

    Cons

Benefits are not great, no vacation in the first year even if you come in with 5+ years experience, underpaid for amount of work produced

    Advice to Management

Give vacation in the first year, show new employees that there will be opportunity for growth.
