Chaotic

(Current Employee)

Pros-The pay is exceptional compared to the general market
-Time off is exceptional compared to the general market
-Benefits are exceptional compared to the general market
-Pension plan is exceptional compared to the general market
-Learning opportunities/advancement are better than the general market

Cons-The presence of a union hampers any type of progress
-Some union employees feel entitled to fleece the organization, which translates into fleecing patients
-Some promotions are based on seniority (and sometimes pity) which doesn't necessarily mean the right person is in the right position
-Some non-union employees have been shifted laterally because of their incompetence instead of being fired
-The stress that comes with most positions in VIHA is unbelievable, which is probably why the pay, pension, benefits and time off are beyond what any private company would pay
-Lots of broken processes and antiquated technology
-Does anyone know the reason for our existence?

Advice to Senior ManagementI have no negative feedback for the leadership at VIHA. It has to be difficult balancing politics with patient care.
