Pros

1. Facility
2. Some of your peers.

Cons

In my opinion:
1. Very incompetent management from the highest levels down.
2. They change policies day to day to keep your head spinning.
3. They want you to be a comformist robot who doesn't question any stupid policy or contrived procedure regardless if it's insane or not.
4. Those who can be a robot and kiss the most behind get ahead.
5. High school atmosphere where everyone tells on each other to try to appease the incompetent mgmt.
6. They like to issue policies and directives that are ill-conceived and not write them down or send them out- that way they can't be proven or used against the incompetent mgmt when it blows up in their faces.
7. Absolutely no communication at all levels of Vanderbilt and across the country in Clayton retail.
8. Very poor training for all new employees. For many jobs, there are no formal trainers or materials. Again, if you don't have it written down it's easier to change and deny.
9. Clique atmospheres in most depts, again, like high school.
10. All in all, I have no idea how this company makes money as everything dreamed up by mgmt is convoluted at best and just simply ridiculous at worst.
11. Another example of a once private company bought by a public entity, but still thinks they are family owned.
12. I wish them all the worst and hope the trailer biz slides into the abyss.

Advice to Management

1. Attention Berkshire, send in some secret agents and find out what is going on in this company.
2. Fire and consolidate much of its current management.
3. Heres a unique thought, if your retail is bleeding red ink, then maybe you have TOO MANY STORES or the managers need to be fired!

    Pros

flexible work schedule, team-focused environment, quarterly bonuses, cafeteria on-site, gym, friendly work environment, ability to feel accomplished at the end of the day

    Cons

busy work, periods of high stress, managers and supervisors holding employees to a different standard than they hold themselves to

    Advice to Management

I would hold managers and supervisors more accountable for their decision-making instead of putting unnecessary pressure on the lower employees.
